Substitute Gary Alexander grabbed a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Millwall a 1-1 draw at Northampton. Both teams ended the game with 10 men after Cobblers striker Poul Hubertz was sent off against his former club in the 80th minute, along with Neil Harris, following a bust-up between the two.
Northampton dominated the first half with Dean Bowditch going close, Hubertz forcing Lenny Pidgeley into a smart save and then forcing the Millwall keeper into another excellent stop with Jason Crowe heading wide shortly afterwards.
Andy Kirk again went close when his shot was blocked by Danny Senda before Bowditch finally broke the deadlock in the 38th minute, following an excellent five-man move. Hubertz sent Kirk away, Danny Jackman crossed and Crowe set up Bowditch to score from close range.
Millwall came into the game in the second half with Alexander going close three times, goalkeeper Mark Bunn saving from the substitute, who then saw a goal-bound shot blocked by Mark Hughes.
Bunn then produced a superb save to tip Alexander's header onto the bar and over but Millwall grabbed a deserved point in stoppage time when Alexander deflected Marcus Bignot's shot past the keeper from close range.
