Substitute Danny O'Donnell's last-gasp header ended Crewe's eight-game winless run with a 4-3 victory over 10-man Tranmere.Andrew Taylor had given the visitors the perfect start, rifling home Steve Jennings' corner from the edge of the box after eight minutes. Chris McCready found the net for Crewe after 17 minutes but his strike was ruled out for offside.
Crewe restored parity in the 29th minute when Anthony Kay body-checked Ben Rix in the box and Gary Roberts drilled in the spot-kick.
But Rovers were back in front two minutes later. Chris Greenacre robbed Ryan Lynch before powering his finish past Ben Williams. Four minutes after the break, Julien Baudet headed Ryan Lowe's corner back across goal and Roberts was on hand to nod in.
Ian Goodison saw red for the visitors in the 64th minute after a rash challenge on Lowe and Crewe went ahead from the resultant free-kick.
Neil Cox drove the ball into the box and the ricochet fell kindly to Nicky Maynard for an easy finish. But Paul McLaren's 25-yard free-kick in the 74th minute flew into the bottom corner to level before O'Donnell crashed in Lowe's corner a minute from time.
