MK Dons have made a deadline-beating swoop to sign defender Carl Regan from Macclesfield for an undisclosed fee.Regan, 27, has signed a one-and-a-half year deal at stadium:mk and becomes the Dons' second capture of the day following the purchase of winger Craig Dobson from Stevenage.

The right-back, who started his career at Everton and has also played for Barnsley, Hull and Chester, will link up once again with Paul Ince, who he played under at Moss Rose.

Regan told the club's official website: "I'm absolutely made up to be here, I've been following MK Dons all season with Paul Ince being my old manager and they've been going from strength to strength.

"I got the phone call at about half-past-seven to get down here and sign so I got in the car and got here as quick as I could."
