Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore could elect to give son Ian a start against his former club Leeds after he returned to Prenton Park from Hartlepool.Striker Moore could come straight back into the side in place of Gareth Taylor, who has moved to Doncaster on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.
Chris Greenacre will vie with Moore for the right to replace Taylor, while Paul McLaren will again feature in midfield following his return to full fitness.
Wingers Chris Shuker and Steve Davies are both sidelined with knee injuries, but Rovers have received some good news on Shuker.
Initial scans in early January appeared to show cruciate ligament damage to his right leg, sparking fears he could be out for the rest of the season.
However, during surgery on Wednesday, it was discovered that his cruciate was not completely torn, and although he had sustained damage to his cartilage, he could be back in action in just four to six weeks.
