Fri 01 Feb, 03:16 PM

Cheltenham manager Keith Downing is expected to have David Bird and Steven Gillespie in his squad for the trip to Gillingham.Midfielder Bird is nursing a broken nose from Tuesday's game against Millwall and striker Gillespie suffered a toe injury in the same match.

Downing told the club's official website: "Dave Bird has a broken nose but he's not a bit better looking than he was against Millwall. Steve had a scan on his toe and fortunately there was no break or fracture so we are grateful for that."

Left-back Alan Wright is also set to feature despite requiring stitches for a head injury sustained during the Lions game.

Town will have several players missing with Paul Connor (hamstring), Shane Duff (Achilles), John Finnigan (foot) and Michael Townsend (illness) all unavailable.

Downing added: "Michael Townsend is managing to do some training in the gym and Shane Duff has gone up to Lilleshall so we are hopeful he will be in contention."
