Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins has revealed the club missed out on signing Dele Adebola from Coventry because of personal terms.The towering striker joined Championship rivals Bristol City on transfer deadline day.

But the Iron had originally agreed a deal to bring the player to Glanford Park before the transfer window re-opened.

"We still tried to keep the light burning to the end of the transfer window," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"We'd agreed a fee with Coventry City but what we couldn't agree was personal terms.

"One would suggest he's got a very good deal going to Bristol City."
