Premier League - Boro seal record deal for Alves

Alves, 27, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract on Teeside.
The deal went through with minutes left of the January transfer window after a saga that has dragged through most of the month.
Alves signed a pre-contract with another Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar recently and struggled to free himself from it in order to sign for Boro.
Despite AZ's protests, the Dutch FA ultimately sided with the player.
"I'm very happy to be able to play in such an important league, the biggest in Europe," said Alves.
"I hope that I can put in good performances and repeat what I achieved in Sweden and Holland."
He previously appeared for Swedish clubs Malmo and Örgryte.
