Wozniacki splits from coach after two months
Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki has split from her coach after only two months.
Confusion over the role of coach Ricardo Sanchez and Wozniacki's father Piotr, who previously coached her, caused the split.
The Dane, who is yet to win a Grand Slam, was ousted from the Australian Open at the quarter-final stage by defending champion Kim Clijsters.
That saw her lose her No.1 ranking, with eventual champion Victoria Azarenka taking over at the top as Wozniacki fell to fourth.
Sanchez, a former coach of Jelena Jankovic - another former world No.1 - was only employed on December 2.
Sanchez told Ekstra Bladet that he found the two-coach system "impossible... Caroline only got confused.
"We agreed to evaluate the cooperation - and now we have agreed to stop it.
"I have great respect for Piotr, who has never played tennis himself, and for his work. But he has his way of doing things, I have mine."
Piotr Wozniacki, who will now coach her alone again, did not rule out employing someone else.
"If there is a coach that Caroline thinks might suit her, we will approach them," he said.

Big buttocks has Caroline!
I don't think players should be banging their coaches anyway!
Thumbs up if you think Wozniacki's days as the world's #1 are gone for good . She will be lucky to hold #3 spot behind Azarenka and Kvitova . I think if Kvitova is well prepared physically and mentally she will be hard to beat . I'm surprised that she is NOT in a better shape physically . Ok, this is the WTA where too many over weight players can get away with playing professional tennis . Can you imagine something like this happening in the ATP ? Anyway, I like Kvitova but she needs to be 1-More consistent . 2-Cut back on unforced errors. 3- Lose some weight !!
Obviously Woz... has some talent, but with her dad as coach, she can only go so far. He has never played tennis for goodness sake. I like her as a person & yes to look at she is great, but unless she changes & adds to her game quite a lot, she will never beat the top players with their power & variety... But it can be done with hard workALSO...I am not a big Murry fan or even a LENDLE fan when he was around, but I have seen a change in Murrys game already & he will improve even more, I will look forward to watching him & possibly get his first GS this year or next...

It took you 132 posts to crawl out of your backside to tell people to stop replying to me?
A bit FOCKING late don''t you think?
Looks like ALL the decent people were here with me discussing tennis.
Where were YOU?
By the way, did you know that "cu'nts" are Useful things?
Except the one that gave birth to YOU that is.
Careful everyone, don't step on this piece of DOG POO!
@ 131 From know_ur.role, on Fri 3 Feb 6:37PM
and what is your role mate?
The Phantom of the Forum?
My last comment was a bit of jest.
For 2 whole days we had a decent debate without people swearing, arguing, posting STUPIDITY and in fact it was enjoyable.
You should try it sometime!
But I doubt you know_ur.role in a sensible debate.
@123 Con,i agree ,she is all those things, but i don't agree that she is not a hard hitter, she hits a different ball to Caroline, harder and with more topspin, which results in a weightier shot.Lets agree to disagree on this one shall we,but if you get the chance to see Kuznetsova close up,check out that forehand,it was developed with some exhausting drills in Barcelona, and as such, can be a beast.
@ Con - out of your collective babbles from two days of researching, cross examining, posting facts and analysing, only just a feable two line sentence actually adds up and make sense. And you wonder why smoke sumed you up by two lines.
He knew and played his role perfectly.
@127 From Smoke, on Fri 3 Feb 5:01PM
ABSOLUTELY!
You do the same.
I can't believe I wasted 2 whole days researching, Posting Facts, analysing and cross examining just to be sumed up by 2 lines on comment #120!
Who is she? And why does she have ''yukky'' in her name (Wozn-Yukky)?
Fair enough! Now you have a good one.
Con Avraam
The last two lines of your commment #120 is an outstanding progress from our "somewhat" insult-free debate in you to see and admit to what WTA is today, but only that the ladies are now better than the recent former no.1 in the world.
Your comment #124 has set the tone for a likely veering off from tennis debate to insults. So I let you be and regard the last two lines of comment #120 as the conclusion of our debate on Wozniacki.
You have a good one!

no miss Smke.
You've gone from scraping the barrel to reducing me to boredom.
You are going round and round in circles looking for something FROM to cling onto to.

Sveta hits a weighty ball but her game is not centered around POWER.
In fact I wouldn't say Sveta hits the ball any harder than Wozi.
From her profile
"Svetlana Kuznetsova is an all-round player. She is noted for her great speed on court and her strong forehand with lot of topspin. She is capable of producing effective volley winners providing an agile touch. However, she is known for her unpredictability and inconsistency."
Sveta uses a wide range of shots during her matches from backhnd slices to forehand drop shots, likes coming into the net and feels comfortable volleying. She varies her serve well with down th line flat balls to wide outswingers. She has mostly been known for her Athleticism and speed around the court.

On the contrary, I've gone from extracting juice from juicy lemons to extracting Blood from a Being full of blood.
"Her PEERS have only just caught up.
Let's see if they got what it takes to stay at the top...." - Con Avraam.
Now at least we are getting somewhere, but Wozniacki's peers have not just got up, they are ahead.
@119 Con,your list of ladies that were not particularly big hitters is on the most part quite correct,i would disagree on one of the girls though,Kuznetsova. She hits a weighty ball,in fact whilst at Sanchez Casal in Barcelona she often had to hit with the guys, due to the fact that the girls were simply over powered by her.Although not owning a significant wingspan, her power comes from incredibly strong and developed legs, which she uses as a base from which to start her shot making.I would say she could be called a hard hitter, not as heavy as say Serena, but up there.

"Wozniacki's head-to-head record with her peers wouldn't help your case in a tour that lacks rivalry and consistency."
WHAT??????
You've gone from trying to extract juice from dry lemons to trying to extract Blood from a stone.
Once again let me remind you that of all her peers, Wozi has been the most CONSISTENT and that is why she occupied the no1 spot for the past 2 years.
Her PEERS have only just caught up.
Let's see if they got what it takes to stay at the top hey?

“I mentioned that over the last 20 YEARS there have only been 4 Champions who weren't big "hitters"-and those are Arantxa Sanchez,Myskina,Henin, Schiavone.”
Well this is starting to boarder on Ridiculous.
What about Steffi Graf, Gabriela Sabatini, Hingis, Conchita Martinez , Iva Majoli , Jana Novotna, Kuznetsova, Mauresmo, are you saying they were Hard Hitters?
Where do draw the line precisely?
Smoke,
Your steadfast support of Wozi................................................... .....What about your steadfast support for the uglys?
Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? Or are you only a fine-weather friend and decided to ditch your idol lest you be termed a loser?
Which is it?
Con Avraam
Wozniacki's head-to-head record with her peers wouldn't help your case in a tour that lacks rivalry and consistency. While their head-to-head records may suggest one thing, the fact that Kvitova and Azarenka have stepped up to claim Wimbledon and Australian suggests another - that they (at least Kvitova and Azarenka) have surged pass Wozniacki with their game, rank and significance of trophies in their respective cabinets.
If none of the veterans pull through to win a Slam, then I bet that their will be four different winners of the Grand Slams but I'm certainly sure that Wozniacki will not be one of them - she simply doesn't have the game for it yet. Your steadfast support for Wozniacki (regardless of the situation) is admirable.
