Cabaye gets three-match ban

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has been given a three-match ban after being found guilty of violent conduct in Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Brighton.

Cabaye had denied deliberately kicking out at Albion defender Adam El-Abd at the Amex Stadium and contested the FA charge.

But a regulatory commission found him guilty and he will now miss Wednesday night's Barclays Premier League game at Blackburn and the upcoming matches against Aston Villa and Tottenham.

  1. Maybe it's not fair that the others got off, but Yohan deserves what he got! Stick to playing football as a professional and leave the violence to the mindless jobs!

  2. As usual FA have one rule for our players and another one for London players. Van persie escapes punishment, Assoua Cotta's was more like GBH, no punishment given.John Terry still playing-no case until the end of July!!! Where is the fairness and consistency here?
