Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury has lauded chief scout Steve Gritt for the club's recent signings.
The Cherries landed Crawley's top scorer Matt Tubbs and winger Donal McDermott from Huddersfield in the final two days of the transfer window.
Gritt joined Bradbury's backroom staff this summer and has already become a trusted aide to the Cherries chief.
"He's definitely an unsung hero and someone I really trust, and I think he deserves some of the credit for the signings we've made," Bradbury told the club's official website.
"He's coached and managed at Brighton and Charlton, and he's really well respected in the game. He knows the game inside out and I value his opinion very highly.
"I don't just see him as a scout. He's a very experienced coach and has a good outlook on the game, and he's been in it longer than I have."
