Dodds strike spurs on Imps revival

Sat 01 Mar, 08:15 PM

Lincoln continued their revival with their sixth win in seven games with a 1-0 triumph against a poor Wycombe team at Sincil Bank.City clinched the points thanks to a 66th-minute goal from youngster Louis Dodds.

Dodds, on a season-long loan from Leicester, hit a first-time shot from the edge of the box into the top corner leaving Wycombe goalkeeper Frank Fielding helpless.

Lincoln should have added to their lead but were denied by the form of Fielding, who blocked a shot from Dany N'Guessan with his legs and then pushed away a powerful effort from Lenell John-Lewis.

Fielding made another excellent save to keep an 88th-minute shot from N'Guessan. The ball came back to Jamie Forrester but the veteran striker shot over from six yards with the goal at his mercy.

The nearest Wycombe came to scoring was in the first half when defender Russell Martin was inches away from finding the net with a long-range shot.
