Robins boss urges killer instinct

Sat 01 Mar, 02:15 PM

Cheltenham manager Keith Downing called on his side to start finishing teams off after they were again held in the 1-1 draw with Southend. The Robins have taken the lead in three of their last four games but have not won any of them - and that was again the case as Nicky Bailey cancelled out Steve Brooker's effort.

And Downing said: "This was a grinding result against a team with aspirations of going straight back up to the Championship.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game but we showed a resilience to keep going.

"We have probably suffered over the last few weeks because we haven't finished teams off. We've got ourselves a goal ahead but the second one hasn't come."
