Roeder raves over 'warrior' Dublin

Sat 01 Mar, 03:00 PM

Norwich boss Glenn Roeder believes veteran striker Dion Dublin has been a "warrior" for his Canaries side this season. The 38-year-old missed last week's game with Barnsley through suspension after a run of six games in the space of four weeks - and Roeder admits he has already "asked too much" of the veteran.

"Dion won't agree with this, Dion being Dion, but I believe we have asked too much of him already this year," Roeder told the Pink'un. "He keeps coming up with answers - everything I ask him to do he keeps coming up with answers.

"But I think overall for someone closer to 40 than 30, I have taken him to the well sometimes I think too often, playing him three times in one week a number of times. One of my favourite words is warrior, that's what he is.

"He never complains. There have been times in the third game in the week in the last five minutes that he's still on I see him sprinting from one side of the pitch to the other and running past a lot younger players."
