Sat 01 Mar, 08:15 PM

Danny Swailes' superb second-half volley proved enough to earn MK Dons a 1-0 victory over Chester City at stadium:mk on Saturday.Swailes hit the decisive strike in the 57th minute and it came just eight minutes after former Dons defender Paul Butler had seen a penalty saved by Willy Gueret.

Both sides had chances in a frantic first half with Jemal Johnson squandering two good early chances for the home side.

At the other end, Kevin Ellison almost put Chester in front but he poked just wide when one-on-one with Gueret.

They were to rue that miss as Swailes showed them the way to goal, smashing home a superb volley from Colin Cameron's corner.

John Miles had a shot cleared off the line by Laurence Wilson after rounding John Danby, Cameron volleyed wide from close range and Johnson fired straight at Danby when one-on-one.
