Southend boss Steve Tilson believes his side must improve on their consistency if they are to win promotion after the 1-1 draw at Cheltenham. The Shrimpers could have moved into fourth with a win, but Tilson's men had to settle for a draw despite having chances to snatch a win in the last 15 minutes.
Tilson said: "I would have loved to have got the three points to be honest, I thought we had enough territory and possession to win the game.
"We went 1-0 down but got back in the game and I then wanted to push on for a winner but it wasn't to be in the end.
"You look at the table and people will say that 1-1 away at Cheltenham is a disappointing result, but we showed good character to get back in the game.
"We have been a bit inconsistent over the season but we have 12 matches left so it is in our hands. We are starting to gel a little bit so hopefully we won't be far away."
