Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock believes a bright future lies ahead for teenage striker Sean Scannell - if he keeps his feet on the ground. The 17-year-old picked up the Irish Examiner National Junior Sports Award from Sir Alex Ferguson this week and joins an illustrious list of names who have won the award.
Warnock believes the youngster was deserving of the award and is confident Scannell can be a success in the future if he keeps he continues to work hard.
"It's a great achievement for young Sean given that the award was won in the past by Roy Keane, Robbie Keane and Damien Duff," Warnock told the club's official website.
"I was glad I made the effort to go over there with him. It was good to see him in such company and I'm sure Sir Alex made a note of his name as one to look at.
"The previous winners weren't bad so he's one it will be interesting. There's no reason if he keeps his feet on the floor and develops why he can't follow in their footsteps."
