Jimmy Calderwood hopes to inspire Barry Nicholson while the midfielder remains with Aberdeen - and admits he will be a hard act to follow. The former Dunfermline player's contract expires this summer and he could follow former team-mates Russell Anderson, Michael Hart and Chris Clark by moving to England after turning down new terms.
Defender Alan Maybury could go the same way if he receives offers to return south, despite only joining from Leicester in January.
Calderwood told the Aberdeen Evening Express: "I'm having sleepless nights worrying about how we would replace a player of Barry's calibre."
He added: "It would be a blow to lose a player who can give you that extra attacking option from midfield."
