Dons chairman eyes double success

Tue 01 Apr, 01:15 PM

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman has set his sights on adding the League Two title to the club's Johnstone's Paint Trophy success. The Dons are three points behind leaders Peterborough with two games in hand and Winkelman knows that a league and cup double could add to the increasing clamour for his prize asset - manager Paul Ince.

Winkelman said: "We really do have to get promoted now. That is the burden of expectation and you can see that with how many fans came down to Wembley to support us.

"When you are as good as Paul is, it doesn't come as a surprise when people come calling. There have been a number of clubs looking to take him this season.

"But I know it will take a particularly big job for Paul to want to go.

"I am just concentrating on making sure that he has as much power and resources as he can to make his job as enjoyable as it can be and as positive as it can be. Hopefully that way we can keep him for longer than people maybe expect."
