Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has told his players they have to improve if they to stop their seaosn from fizzling out.Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Birmingham meant they have taken just two points from their last six matches and hopes of European football next year have all but gone.

Eriksson knows he has to arrest the slide and has told the squad they have to do more and he said: "All the players were in on Monday watching the video and talking.

"I spoke to them because at the Birmingham game and some games before that, not Bolton, I think we have to do better. We should do better.

"I think it's very good when the players can see how they've behaved on the pitch and hopefully we will play better next time."

Eriksson added on the club's website: "At least the training was better on Monday than when we played on Saturday that's for sure."
