Reading and Portsmouth target John Mensah is keen to join an English club this summer - and the Ghana defender would love a Fratton Park move.The Rennes centre-back is a long-term target of the Royals and Harry Redknapp has joined the hunt following a recommendation by John Utaka.

Utaka played with Mensah at Rennes and the two could now be reunited this summer, with Mensah admitting a move Pompey is a real possibility.

"I would be happy to join him. I think it is a good place for an African player," Mensah told The Sun.

"In the past Reading spoke about me and I know they are still interested.

"But with Portsmouth joining the picture it has made it even more interesting."

However, Mensah says there are also other Premier League clubs interested, saying: "They are not the only top English clubs keen on me."
