Blackpool defender Shaun Barker insists his side cannot consider themselves safe from relegation, despite reaching the 50-point mark.The Seasiders have failed to win any of their past six games but lie six points above the relegation zone.

However, Barker feels that despite some impressive recent results, such as drawing at Stoke and Crystal Palace, Simon Grayson's side cannot let up in their bid to mathematically safeguard against the drop.

He said: "I think at the start of the season you'd get to a tally where you think you're pretty much going to be safe.

"People used to say about 50 points but I think maybe a little bit more is going to be needed this year to stay up because obviously results are going against us and a few teams are picking up towards the end of the season.

"We've got to the 50 and, fingers crossed, we can get a few more as soon as possible."
