Rovers snap up Kiwi teenager

Blackburn have beaten off competition from Everton and Rangers to sign 15-year-old New Zealand starlet Cameron Lindsay on a four-year contract.Lindsay had a trial at Blackburn and the promising defender impressed enough to clinch a move to the Premier League from Central United.

"I was a bit stunned at first," Lindsay told the North Shore Times. "But now I just want to get out there.

"I'll start in the Under 16s, then the Under 18s and hopefully in the third year, I'll break into the reserves. After that it's the senior side.

"The trial at Blackburn was only meant to be a week long but it got extended to two."
