Bradford City striker Peter Thorne has extended his contract with the Bantams for a further 12 months. When the 34-year-old signed last summer, City had the option to extend the one-year deal for another season - something they were keen to do after 12 goals so far this season.
Thorne, like Paul Heckingbottom in January, has also signed for less money than he has been on at Valley Parade.
McCall told the Telegraph & Argus: "That shows me he is here for the right reasons. It is more appearance-based and Thorney is happy to do that because he is enjoying himself here.
"I'm not saying he'd fallen out of love with football but he'd had two difficult years at Norwich. He's come here and got that zest back again.
"Every team needs a goalscorer and he was proven at a higher level when he came to us, so I was always confident he would score.
"He had a bit of a sticky start and it took him a while to open his account but from then on he's been up and running."
