Port Vale boss Lee Sinnott has handed trials to four players as he attempts to shape his squad for life in League Two next season.Aberdeen left-back Dan Smith, Nuneaton midfielder Robert Taylor, Middlesbrough's 18-year-old striker Steve Thompson and Hucknall defender Bobby Wilson will train with the Valiants this week and could feature for the reserves against Huddersfield on Wednesday.
Sinnott told the Sentinel: "We will look at people and maybe do that more between now and the end of the season.
"There are no guarantees, but it is having one eye on what is going to happen next season.
"I thought the better reserve game was Wednesday's because they will have been in the building for a couple of days and got a bit more settled.
"We want to compare and see them up close. We will then evaluate at the end of the week."
