Watford midfielder Gareth Williams made his return from a year out through injury as the reserves beat QPR 2-1 on Monday night.Williams came on for the last 20 minutes for his first football since picking up a cruciate knee ligament injury against Tottenham in March 2007.

The midfielder has made just three appearances for the Hornets since moving from Leicester but could now return to Adrian Boothroyd's side before the end of the season to provide a welcome boost to their flagging promotion challenge.
