Preston boss Alan Irvine has paid tribute to defender Callum Davidson after he extended his contract with the Championship outfit.North End have added a 12-month extension to Davidson's existing deal and Irvine is delighted to have secured his services.

"Callum is a really valuable member of our team and our squad," said Irvine.

"He is someone who is fantastic to have not only on the pitch, but also around the club, in the dressing room and on the training ground.

"I can't speak highly enough of him."
