Green plays down Hammers exit talk

Thu 01 May, 11:15 AM

Robert Green has denied reports he will leave West Ham this summer but also admitted he has not held talks over a new deal at Upton Park. The goalkeeper has been linked with a summer move to north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur following an impressive season for the Hammers.

Alan Curbishley is determined to hang on to Green, though, and wants to offer the former Norwich keeper a new contract.

Green only signed a new four-year deal at the start of this season and admits talks regarding improved terms have not taken place.

But the England hopeful also confirmed there is no substance to suggestions that he is looking to move on in the summer.

"Nothing has been discussed," said Green in The Independent regarding a new deal.

"It's purely paper talk, just as much as there is talk from people saying I'm going to go to various clubs as well."
