Out-of-contract Birmingham midfielder Dave Howland has revealed he is likely to accept the offer of a new contract from Port Vale. The on-loan 21-year-old, who is available on a free transfer at the end of the season, has been offered a deal at Vale Park for next season after spending the last three months with the relegated League One side.
He told the Sentinel: "First of all, I am very flattered to be offered a contract. It is just a case of working out a few details here and there. With a bit of luck, I will be here next year.
"We are in a bit of a bad spell at present, but I've no doubts I would be joining a good club. It would be great to be involved next year."
He added: "I think we have the potential to bounce back. League Two football is still a good standard and it will be tough next year.
"But hopefully, with any luck, we will get back in League One next year."
