Jacobson excited by Cheltenham move

Thu 01 May, 06:00 PM

Defender Joe Jacobson believes the playing surface at Whaddon Road will complement Bristol Rovers' style of play perfectly next season. The Pirates are set to groundshare with Cheltenham for the next two seasons while the Memorial Stadium undergoes redevelopment, and the 21-year-old is hopeful they can turn their new base into a real fortress.

He told the club's official website: "It's not a massive stadium up there, but if we can fill it each week and get a decent atmosphere going then I think it can become a good home for us.

"There's a brilliant surface, and I think we can do a lot of damage to a lot of teams up there and beat a lot of sides.

"Travelling isn't ideal, but you only do it once every two weeks and it's not really that big a deal. To be able to play on a pitch like that every week is the main thing, and it's a massive boost for us knowing the way we like to play."
