Magilton handed suspended ban

Thu 01 May, 04:30 PM

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has been cleared to be present in the dugout for Sunday's must-win clash with Hull after an FA hearing.Magilton met an FA disciplinary hearing on Thursday to face a misconduct charge after he was sent to the stands by referee Mike Jones in the 1-0 defeat at Stoke in February.

The former Northern Ireland midfielder was fined and handed a suspended two-match touchline ban until the end of next season.

Club secretary Sally Webb told the club's official website: "We had a very fair hearing.

"The suspension on the touchline ban means that it will come into place if Jim faces another charge next season.

"If he goes through the year with no disciplinary action then the ban will be wiped off in May 2009."
