Ternent set to wield Town axe

Thu 01 May, 08:00 PM

Huddersfield's new manager Stan Ternent will reveal which players he will be letting go next week.Ternent, installed as permanent successor to Andy Ritchie last week, has had little time to decide who still has a future at the Galpharm Stadium.

Former Bury, Burnley and Gillingham manager Ternent told the Terriers' official club website: "I'll be telling the lads who are offered a new deal exactly what we expect of them.

"Hopefully they will accept them and then we can work on the next part of the jigsaw here.

"I'm happy to have Boothy here next season, but I want to get the goalkeeper (Matt Glennon) sorted out. I'm meeting with his agent towards the end of this week and hopefully we can reach a resolution, because I understand it's been ongoing for about six months.

"I've just got to make some quick decisions and deal with the out-of-contract players next week."
