Geraint Williams has backed young winger Medy Elito to continue making progress next season after an impressive start to life at Colchester.The 17-year-old has started the last six games and put in some impressive performances on the left flank to boost the Us during an otherwise disappointing end to the season.

"Medy's a young man and he seems to be learning well," Williams told the Gazette.

"The main thing that gives a player confidence is being picked. Once you're picked, it's up to you to go out and perform and make sure that you're picked the next time.

"The thing about football is that every time you go out over the white line you have to do well to stay in the team."
