Prospective new Rotherham owner Tony Stewart has revealed he expects to assume control of the League Two club by Friday at the latest.
Local businessman Stewart, of Rotherham-based company ASD Lighting plc, has emerged as administrator Jeremy Bleazard's favoured bidder from an initial five candidates to take control of the cash-strapped Millers.
Stewart insists that much of the deal is in place and only a few loose ends need to be tied up as he looks to seal a deal before the end of the week.
"There is still a couple of technical issues to sort out but these are being dealt with by the administrator and they are really just i's to dot and t's to cross," Stewart told Radio Sheffield's Football Heaven show.
"I have put a lot of money into this and the signatures should be in place by Friday. The funds are there and we have ticked all the boxes."
