League One - Team news: Tranmere missing Goodison

Eurosport - Fri, 01 May 13:32:00 2009

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore will again be without defender Ian Goodison when his side travel to Scunthorpe for a winner-takes-all clash.

The Jamaica international centre-back remains banned as he serve a four-game ban following a red card against Hereford.

Winger Chris Shuker will not play again this season as he recovers from a broken arm and departing striker Chris Greenacre also remains sidelined.

Greenacre is close to making a full recovery from the foot and knee injuries that kept him out of action since December but is unlikely to feature.

Moore will also check on the fitness of striker Bas Savage after he missed last weekend's clash with Yeovil due to an Achilles injury.

Rovers must win to leapfrog Scunthorpe into sixth spot and Moore said: "We need the players to be strong."

Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins is confident a host of key players will be fit for the crunch match.

Goalkeeper Joe Murphy should be available after recovering from a groin injury that kept him out of the 3-0 victory over Cheltenham on Tuesday night.

Defender Andrew Wright was not risked on Tuesday after requiring 10 stitches to a cut around his eye in the previous game but he is also ready to return.

Fellow defender David Mirfin should also be in the squad after X-rays confirmed he had not broken a metatarsal in his foot during the win over the Robins

But defender Kenny Milne and Henry Lansbury (both knee) do miss out.

A sixth-place finish and a play-off semi-final awaits Scunthorpe as long as they avoid defeat.
