Piotr Trochowski's first-half goal gave Hamburg a thrilling 1-0 win against Bremen in an end-to-end UEFA Cup semi-final first leg.
The visitors outplayed their hosts in the first half as they created a string of solid chances.
But the home team came out in the second half and threw everything at the visitors in a scintillating display.
Yet despite nearly three dozen attempts on goal, neither team managed to find the net again - with Bremen's woeful finishing being mainly to blame - as Hambueg held on.
Martin Jol's side may have been outplayed on the night, but will take a lead and an away goal to next week's second leg.
Bremen's energy and commitment during this first leg, however, will give them plenty of hope of overturning the deficit.
More to follow.

Germany won't be number 3 because of wage caps for players. Its a good and a bad thing at the same time. It makes German soccer a much more level playing field.
In my opinion the Bundesliga is on a good way to become nr3 in europe.Just take a look at werder bremen. They have beaten Inter,Ac and Udine this season.Besides that its, the most exciting league in this year.
ha ha ha Spurs fans must be biting their tongues. Up Martin Jol!!!!!!!!!
