Fabian Wegmann (Team Milram) won his second consecutive Eschborn-Frankfurt race in Germany.
German rider Wegmann (pictured), who is coming back from a broken collarbone, won the sprint ahead of Landbouwkrediet duo Geert Verheyen and Bert Scheirlinckx.
"It doesn't get any better than this," said Wegmann.
"I've had so much bad luck this year, and this is fantastic, to win my favourite race again."
There was also local success at the GP Herning in Denmark as Alex Rasmussen of Team Saxo Bank enjoyed victory in front of his home crowd on the 198km race.
Rasmussen led home fellow Dane Martin Mortensen (Vacansoleil) by three seconds, with Mortensen's Dutch team-mate Joost Van Leijen coming in third.
"The plan was to make the race as hard as possible," said Rasmussen.
"The domestic teams were not in the mood to give anything away, so we had to fight for it."
In Italy another local rider, Daniele Ratto, won the GP Industria & Artigianato.
The Carmiooro rider edged Colombian Miguel Angel Rubiano Chavez (Meridiana Kamen) and fellow Italian Franco Pellizotti (Liquigas) in a sprint to the line.
