Swansea manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that he is weighing up a move for Southend's experienced midfielder Mark Gower.Gower, who joined from Barnet in July 2003, is due to become a free agent next month and is currently mulling over the offer of a new deal at Roots Hall.
Martinez is now keen to lure the 29-year-old to the Liberty Stadium as a possible replacement for Andy Robinson, who joined Leeds recently.
"Mark Gower is a player we have been looking at," Martinez told the Swansea Evening Post.
"You only need to look at his record to see what kind of player he is. In a way he is similar to Andy Robinson in terms of his role on the pitch.
"It's early days to say whether he might join Swansea this summer, but he is somebody we have been following."
