Germany captain Michael Ballack has offered his full backing to under-fire goalkeeper Jens Lehmann.
The 38-year-old was criticised for his performance in the 2-2 draw with Belarus last Tuesday, although he looked more assured in the 2-1 victory over Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday.
Coach Joachim Low's decision to name Lehmann as his number one despite his lack of match-practice at Arsenal last season has been questioned by many in Germany, but Ballack is convinced the former Borussia Dortmund star is the best man for the job.
"There is no discussion about him on the team," said Chelsea midfielder Ballack.
"He's had two more matches to gain playing time now. He is very experienced. We trust him and we stick together."
Ballack was at his best in Saturdays come-from-behind victory over Serbia, helping set up the equaliser for Oliver Neuville in the 74th minute before converting a free-kick to give his side the win eight minutes later.
"It was important to win the final warm-up match because it gives us a good feeling and a lot of confidence for the tournament," he added.
"But we need to get better. There are still a few things missing .
"We are calmer, more stable and more experienced than we were two years ago at the World Cup," he said.
"Back then some players played their first big tournament. Now we have more stability in what we do. The team has matured."
Asked about how Germany will fare at Euro 2008, the 31-year-old replied: "When the tournament starts we will see in what shape we are in and how we play the matches.
"It depends on whether we can start a run. All in all you can never give a prediction beforehand."
