Sam Baird won a place on the main snooker tour for the 2009-2010 season after beating David Craggs in the final of the EASB play-offs.
The 20-year-old edged Craggs in a final-frame decider to win 6-5 and become the latest player to make the step up.
Baird finished ninth in the rankings before registering comfortable wins over Jeff Cundy and Adam Wicheard in the early play-off rounds.
He faced stiffer competition in the quarter and semi-finals, beating Sean Bullock 5-3 and 2009-10 Paul Hunter Scholar Jack Lisowski 5-4 to reach the final.
Defeat for Craggs caps a disappointing week, having also lost out in the final of the English Amateur Championship.
