Premier League - Lavezzi says no to Liverpool

Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi has quashed speculation linking him to a summer move to Liverpool.

The 24-year-old Argentine, who has also been mentioned as a potential target for Manchester United, has said he has no desire to move to the Premier League and plans to stay in Italy.

"Liverpool's offer? I want to stay at Napoli," he said.

"I hope everything will be made clear but it depends on the club not on me. I reiterate that my wish is to remain at Napoli."

Lavezzi has scored 15 league goals in 57 appearances for Napoli.

  2. Rafael Benitez should sign a top class striker if he­ wants EPL and CL success. I am tired of him fielding­ weakened sides losing out in copmetitions while he­ fights for CL and EPL which he has so far failed to­ land (I mean EPL).Man Utd go all out to win everything­ every season, but Benitez targets some competitions,­ which is good, but he does not seem to be getting­ success either. He should change his mentality.

  4. well, i think lavezzi at least will reamain at napoli­ and will earn there more money, in facts lavezzi has no­ intention to leave the city, he likes very much to live­ in naples. the italian club it is a rich club, it wants­ make a super-team to join and possibly to win champions­ league. so no way to buy from them hamsik, maggio or­ lavezzi: napoli buys doesen't sell... only to days­ ago napoly signs Quagliarella, probably the best­ italian forward.

  18. im happy were not getting him i didnt fancy him anyway­ this mate from italy told me he is a good player but­ not good enough for the EPL. With that being said we­ should target aguero, tevez, and Javi martinez. We­ obviously wont get all three. we might get two if we ­ sell babel, el zhar , voronin, lucas and arbeloa. With­ rafa already getting 20 mill plus money from the league­ and CL we might get class players which will help us­ win the title next season.
