David Moyes believes the trend of mega-rich Premier League owners will one day be viewed as nothing more than a passing phase.
As Moyes once again plots a summer bargain hunt with whatever funds chairman Bill Kenwright can afford to release, Portsmouth are getting ready to invest the cash provided by new owner Sulaiman Al-Fahim.
With Mark Hughes preparing to invest significant sums from Manchester City's Abu Dhabi-based backers, Roman Abramovich determined to make Everton's FA Cup conquerors Chelsea a major Premier League force once more and the US-based owners at Manchester United and Liverpool ready to spend, Moyes will have his work cut out merely treading water at Goodison Park.
But the Scot is happy to keep working with Kenwright, believing his enthusiastic boss is the right man to take Everton forward.
"There is a lot to be said for having a chairman who is a supporter," he said. "You know what you are dealing with. Maybe in years to come, people will say there was a bit of fashion with all these foreign owners but now let's get back to basics and have people who love the club.
"If it is going to keep being money, money, money, something is going to go wrong in the future. That is why people should be hoping someone breaks into the top four because it would alter the whole dynamics."

Agreed, Moyes has done a fantstic job this season, I mean he's managed to run a squad with little resources, pulled 5th place out of the bag, Europa league action, yeah...losing finalists in the FA Cup, but doesn't that prove that Moyes through all his patience has something to build upon once again in a ever changing Premier League. BTW his down-to-earth attitude after losing the FA Cup really showed me how un-political he his in getting involved in stupid exchanges of words choosing wise words instead, and in preference actually breathed new air into a final when most managers would knock on the FAs door with a axe after a loss! Go Everton! Yeh...WE RULE! LOL.

What is not to love in David Moyes. He showed his class on Saturday, even in defeat by congratulating the Chelsea players individually (the fat spanish waiter wouldn't have done that). Then he says something like this, down to earth, calm, reserved, integrity....in a word RESPECTFUL How refreshing it is to see in the "modern game" David Moyes = Class
