Bantams boss ends Moore chase

Tue 01 Jul, 01:45 PM

Bradford boss Stuart McCall is no longer interested in bringing Darren Moore to City after completing the signing of Graeme Lee.Lee has signed a two-year deal at Valley Parade following his release from Doncaster, while McCall was one of several managers in the race to sign former Bradford defender Moore, who is still undecided over his future.

McCall told the club's official website: "To be fair, we had to move on and he (Moore) respected that. We put a deadline on Daz, and Graeme knew that, but we couldn't afford to mess about."

McCall is keen to make Lee his skipper, adding: "We're obviously missing David Wetherall's influence at the back and I'm sure Graeme will come in and lead us.

"He's captain material and brings not only his leadership, but a hunger and desire. I like his mentality."

Lee, 30, skippered Doncaster to Johnstone's Paint Trophy success at Wembley in 2007, but suffered neck and knee injuries last season and struggled to win back his place in Sean O'Driscoll's starting line-up.
