Bournemouth have appointed Alistair Saverimutto as chief executive in a bid to add further stability to the cash-strapped club's plight.Chairman Jeff Mostyn on Tuesday released a statement to fans on the club's official website announcing the new appointment and thanking them for their "patience and understanding" during what has been a difficult time at the club.
The statement comes on the same day the BBC reported a rival - but less lucrative - takeover offer has been received by the south coast club's administrators.
But Mostyn, who is still confident of finalising his own bid, said: "We are making good progress with our proposals to the Football League for the transfer of the golden share. Hopefully the final draft will be ready this week for submission.
"Steve (Sly) and I will will remain vice chairman and chairman respectively and we will both continue to play a vital part in the club's future.
"In addition, we have appointed Alistair Saverimutto as chief executive who will assume operational control of the football club moving forward. He brings a wealth of experience having been involved in sport for over 18 years, five of which in football administration including head of commercial operations at Everton FC."
