Defender Gary Doherty has put an end to speculation surrounding his future by signing a new two-year deal with Norwich.The former Tottenham utility man moved to Carrow Road in 2004 and has since put in 147 appearances for the Canaries, helping them consolidate their place in the Championship last term.

Boss Glenn Roeder announced at his last press conference that he had prepared a "good offer" for the Irishman, who he also dubbed his "most consistent player" last season.
