Paterson hails Burnley spirit

Tue 01 Jul, 04:15 PM

New signing Martin Paterson was impressed by squad spirit despite a gruelling first training session with Burnley. The 21-year-old arrived at Turf Moor from Scunthorpe, where he was the club's top scorer with 14 goals, in a £1million deal last week.

And the striker, who signed a four-year deal, is eager to be part of a successful Clarets squad.

"I didn't enjoy it but it's all about getting yourself fit. You can tell the lads have got a great spirit already and I've really enjoyed my first day," he told the club's official website.

"I'm going to work hard, dig in and see how many goals I can get. Everyone here is focused on doing well and that can only be good for someone new like me coming in.

"There are no cliques here, we all get on well and I just want to be a part of it and get involved."
