Wycombe goalkeeper Jamie Young believes the disappointment of last season will provide extra motivation for Wanderers to gain promotion.Wanderers were sent crashing out of the play-offs 2-1 on aggregate by the eventual winners Stockport, bringing a disappointing end to a campaign that had promised so much.

"The experience of last season I think will only spur us on to greater heights," he told the club's official website. "In the last two seasons since I have been here we have improved and improved, and I believe this is the time to go on another step."

Young also used the opportunity to express his surprise at the resignation of former boss Paul Lambert and his satisfaction at the appointment of a "highly credited manager" in Peter Taylor.

"Many of us were shocked by the whole thing, me being included as one of them, and that's because it gives a feeling of uncertainty," continued the shot stopper. "Peter Taylor is an experienced manager who knows this and all the other leagues in England inside out. His experience is unrivalled in League Two and that will count for a lot."
