Ronaldinho has admitted he would jump at the chance to work under Luiz Felipe Scolari again at Chelsea.
Barcelona are ready to part with the Brazilian after a disappointing season and he has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea are expected to make a number of signings over the coming weeks and Ronaldinho has given the strongest hint yet that he could be one of the arrivals.
The 28-year-old is full of respect for Scolari after working with him at the 2002 World Cup and concedes that joining him at Stamford Bridge could be an option.
"I am a Barca player. I am only focused on training," Ronaldinho said in an interview with the Brazilian TV Globo programme.
"With respect to where I am going to play, if I will stay or if I will go, all that is in the hands of my brother.
"It is marvellous that Felipao (Scolari) is interested in signing me because he is an excellent coach. I have a lot of respect for him because I have known him since I was very young and he was coach of Gremio.
"If the chance came up to work with him again then it would be very good. We have a history together in the game, we won the World Cup, and that is something I will never forget."
Ronaldinho's poor form last term prompted criticism of his fitness and lifestyle, but he insists he has never let anything interfere with his game.
He is confident of getting back to his best but accepts that he need to speak with Barcelona again about his future.
"My life has always been the same," he said. "I have not changed since the first day that I arrived in Barcelona.
"My routine has always been like this, but football is a question of form. When the trophies do not come, people begin to invent a lot of things."
Ronaldinho added: "I believe that the best period of my career is yet to come. I still dream about winning things with the Selecao and that motivates me to train even more. I am still too young to think I have done everything.
"I have not yet gone to Barcelona to speak to the club, therefore my thoughts have been focused solely on my recovery and playing again. When the time comes to speak to them we will sit down and solve everything."

we're doing the quadruple next season; premiersp, fa cup, carling cup and UEFA champions league. up chelsea
I don't really understand Barca. It is really stupid to let Eto and Ronaldihno go. Just give them a break! They won everything for them and in such style. In the modern game it is only natural that there is a period of slupm after victories...well, coming second and third in la liga and reaching the semi-finals is really a loss of form many clubs would be happy to have. Barca and Barca media was stupid to put so much pressure and expectations on Ronaldinho only and on the manager. They had loads of quality players who could really back up Ronnie. I think this is exactly the reason Barca has only three European Champions Cups. Lack of patience. Give the guys a break and they will repay you, but no, they sell Ronnie and hope Arshavin will be able to fill Ronnie's boots. How stupid!
Look at the patience Ferguson had in building his victorious team. If he had behaved like Barca, he would have gotten rid of Ronaldo after the first two trophiless seasons.
ronnaldinho will rock at chelsea next season will be brilliant!
What a shame scumchester utd have become a selling club unable to keep their best players! Chelsea are bankrolled by a mega billionaire .Ronaldinho for the mighty blues and it will be loose change for Abramovitch. The rest of the premier league teams are just jealous of our spending power.
i enjoy reading the fans comments but wny can't the latest be on top? Its like reading backwards! - kiraga in gede
The Chelsea spoilt brat bandwagon rolls on.... maybe next they will sign Maradona or Beckenbauer... get real Chelsea... you have to earn respect and quality, not buy it.. next season will be another flop - and the spoilt babies who wear the blue will be in tears again....
rollin_uswal...do you have a poster of Ronaldinho on your bedroom wall? shed a tear because your love will forever be unrequited? bloody hell man, he's a good player and so deserves to be showered with praise but you either consider him to be [i] your soulmate or [ii] the new messiah.
and there is no way the second coming would feature dentistry like that.
he is not fit 4 the blues
Chelsea will win the premier league and champions league with Ronaldinho
the work ethic in england would sort him out
Ronnie is the best n will always be the best, if u r making negative comments about ronnie means u guys r not watching football, u r hearing soccer haha, don't u know about the glories that he bought to barca for two seasons, or u guys don't know about that................if thats true i am right u hear football, he will play his best wherever he goes, no matter what club it is, when his form returns you will see what he can do, don't you remember his skills and performance during the 2 glorious season for barca, it was all because of him, even barca's arch rivals' RM supporters had to applaud him when he was playing against RM at Santiago, bernabau. He has lots more to give. He is always the best player in the world.
Ronaldinho playing for Chelsea, marvelous I cannot wait for next season when at long last we will have a team to attempt the quadruple - if any team can do it then Chelsea can
Hey everybody making negative comments about Ronnie, don't you guys watch football or what, hab u forgotten his performance, class and skill during the 2 season when he and only he won liga and champions league for barca, i think he will do well for any club he goes, it doesn't matter its chelsea or any other, good players always play good, and who the hell r u guys to compare joey barton with ronnie, ronnie is always on top of the football world and will always be there, he is still the best player in the world and when his form returns no one can stop him scoring goals and providing a tap in goals for the strikers, and again remember his contribution to barca for their glories, if u guys don't know about that, there's is everything u can surf in the net........................OK
As somebody once said "The Team that wins will be a TEAM". The Chelsea directors dont seem capable of absorbing this concept so keep buying gifted individuals, rather than looking at the entire squad and building a unit where each person has skills that compliment those of others in the team, and who can adjust to a given method of play.
OK - so Man U have Ronaldo (For the moment...) but if they lose him you can be sure that they will still be a competitive, balanced Team. One man CANT win a match alone. He needs a stable base of contributors around him.
Take Germany - through to the semis in the Euro cup and without one show pony amongst them...
i love it when all these players say they want to play for, or even go ahead and sign for chelsea. The reason being, they would've laughed at the thought of signing for a mid table club who couldn't even get a champions league place six years ago.
I dont like this Brazilian connection of Chelsea at all.......... i am not sure this will work..........get some young guns Chelsea!!!
