Real Madrid midfielder Ruben de la Red will miss the whole of the 2009-10 season as doctors have still not pinned down why he collapsed in a match in October.
"What I have doesn't have a name and as of today there is no concrete answer," De la Red, 24, told Marca, adding he still hoped to make a comeback at some point.
The former Spain international was running back towards the hal-way line when he suddenly fell face first and lay motionless.
He was taken off on a stretcher and regained consciousness in the dressing room but has not played since.

Real Madrid C.F. wishes to announce that Ruben de la Red will not rejoin the first team squad following the rigorous medical exams he has undergone over the last several months. Although the medical reports discourage De la Red from playing sports, Real Madrid C.F. will continue to search for solutions and has offered the player its assistance both personally and professionally speaking. This was from their official website posted today
Wow, that is really strange. I also hope he gets better soon and gets to play. I hate Real too and love Barca but it is always sad to hear such news, especially when the player is so young. It reminds of poor Antonio Puerta - that was so tragic. All the best Ruben!
He is a class player! Althrough I hate Madrid, Wish him the best! Visca el Barca!!!
