La Liga - Ronaldo in hot water after car-kick

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has allegedly been reported to police after he kicked a paparazzo's car in Lisbon last weekend following a car chase after acting to defend his mother.

"He (the photographer) chased me by car from the Ritz Hotel with my mother in the car with me, and they filmed all our actions. The chase so perturbed my mother that I had to stop and convince them to leave us," Ronaldo said on the website of Gestifute, the agency that represents the Portugal player.

Gestifute said Ronaldo lashed out because the paparazzo refused to leave him alone.

Media reports said Ronaldo's kick broke the car window, which caused minor injuries to a 17-year-old woman who has filed a complaint with the police.

A spokesperson for Lisbon police declined to comment.

Ronaldo completed his £80 million world record transfer to Real from Manchester United last week.

Paps have a way of getting into your ish evry now and­ especially if you have a celebrity status. so Ronaldo­ has to lay low for a while, hide perhaps or use his­ friends' cars to avoid attention and only that way­ would he be able to escape these paps. Eitherway His­ career is heel bound if he goes on with this kind of­ reaction.

  14. kicking cars is not something footballers should do­ but then it would be funny if he missed next season­ because of injury from the car haha just messing . ­ paps dont like been papped he should of got revenge the­ friendly way and stalked them for a day haha

  15. Fergie and united are great at shielding the players­ from media attention, if it is unwanted. No such­ protection in Madrid. He's going to have to get­ used to it. It's out of order for the press to­ harrass anyone, but it's bound to happen. Sherpers­ in the himilayas probably know about the Ronaldo­ transfer. This sort of attention should be expected.­

    Either way i'm sure he'll be lapping up the­ attention at some point.

Sir Alex is proving once again to be the maestro; he­ has always got rid of his players at the right time;­ even though he would have liked to have held onto Ronny­ for a while longer; i believe Ronny is fast going down­ the road of no return in that he will in due course­ lose control of himself.   20. Papparazzi ie scum and love to revel in other­ people's pain and suffering. I thought I would­ never defend Ronaldo in my life but this guy probably­ was the bad guy in this situation.
