MK Dons admit they are "extremely disappointed" to see Roberto Di Matteo leave the club to join West Brom.

FOOTBALL 2008-2009 League One MK Dons Roberto Di Matteo - 0

The Dons boss left the club to become head coach at the Hawthorns on Tuesday evening and the club were keen not to stand in his way.

The situation echoes the one which saw Paul Ince leave to join Blackburn last summer, and the club are now seeking a fourth manager in the past four seasons.

A club statement read: "Having enjoyed an extremely successful first season in Milton Keynes, his first managerial position, it came as little surprise that Robby`s undoubted qualities would prove attractive to a club at a higher level.

"While we are extremely disappointed to lose our manager so close to the start of pre-season, we recognise that the opportunity at the Hawthorns represents a big step in Robby`s career.

"We will now begin the process of appointing a new manager that can build on the success of recent seasons and continue to take the club forward."

  3. Doesn't anybody have any sense of loyalty anymore. Has it always got to be about ME ME ME and my career and what's best for ME! I was a teacher fora number of years but there were times in my career when I didn't seek promotion because it would have adversely affected the education of pupils heading into the second and final year of an exam course.
I can only say how thankful I am that I support Everton and that we have a manager who values loyalty as well as having a deep passion to succeed. He may move on, in time: his commitment to EFC has certainly earned him a crack at Manchester United if they do come in for him but long may he reign at Goodison.
Perhaps Senor Matteo could take a leaf out of his book? Will he be moving on again as soon as a bigger club comes in for him.
I can only sympathise with the Dons' fans. Hope you find a good one who wants to stay. Well done and all the best for the future.
